Honeymoon Myths Debunked-Best tips for honeymoon
“Honeymoon” …enough to give goosebumps to you, if yours is an arranged marriage and if you still shy off before your partner. But believe me; Honeymoons are just a bit over-hyped. Here I will break to you a few honeymoon myths:
(yes, am being gross) but in terms of likes and dislikes, habits and does not mean only in terms of sexualityWell, the purpose of the Honeymoon is only to give you two some self-contained time to know each other. Knowing each other essentially behaviour and response. So first and foremost, you must not have a predefined notion of an ideal honeymoon as we are here to break some honeymoon myths, for there is no such thing as an ideal honeymoon. It’s just the sync between you two which should strengthen the emotional bond between you two.
But make sure, you do not skip anything that could make it miserable. Here’s a Master Checklist for the same.
1) You Honeymoon Only Once- one of the most undeserving honeymoon myths of all the time
“Hum jeete h ek baar, marte v h ek baar, aur ekbaar hi pyaar karte h. Saccha pyar“(We live only once, die also only once, and fall in love only once. True Love)…but honeymoon, definitely multiple times. What is it??? A law??? Of course, you have budget constraints!! But Honeymoons are meant for only you two to be together, so you could even take weekends off and spend time away in a nearby place. All that is important is you two to be one minded.
2) Be Together Every Second
Well, this should never happen. Take in some time to breathe alone and just be yourself. Even if that means sitting opposite to one another and stay quiet for some time. Sometimes, silence makes more noise. And of course, you need to understand that your soul mate’s soul is tired after the long wedding planning and tiresome rituals.
Again, if she is an adventure seeker, but you are afraid of heights; that doesn’t mean she should refrain from scuba diving. Let her go ahead and you applaud her and read a book waiting for her if you like doing so.

3) Be Happy All the Time
It is obvious for either of you to get mood swings particularly since it is right after the marriage. So, we advise you to be just yourself. After all, isn’t marriage and love about embracing one another with all the flaws and be together through the thick and thin?

4) Do This and Do That, and Upload Great Images of You Two
There’s just one thing to say to suffice why it is a myth: “True Happiness and love is not in a bottle of pricey champagne or a lavish watch or a present worth a million, but it is in a million small things.” It is the responsibility of both to take care of the budget restrictions and let the instrument of your life play smooth, in accord.
5) You Need to Go Far Away, For Long and Spend Exotically
Well, it’s an open secret that their “great” implies “enticing”. Your honeymoon. Your rules. Spend it with each other. It’s imperative that you to spend quality time with one another and not only to flag your chemistry on social media. Well, just as some preach; those who upload less on social media, have more remarkable personal lives. So a piece of personal opinion, do keep some memories exclusively for you…which only you to know…and smile like idiots before others…may be in your 70s as well.
So these were some of our honeymoon myths debunked, now keep calm, enjoy your honeymoon and do let us know in the comment section about any points which we have missed or any great ideas or suggestions from your side :*

Soulmate-Qualities to Check For in a Soulmate
Qualities to Check For In a Soulmate
Life isn’t a bed of roses but an upright soulmate does ease the pain. So at the threshold of adulthood, we must let our childhood fantasies of ‘prince charming’ elude and allow soberness to dawn. When making the most crucial call in life we must not be swayed away by material parameters which make a mark nowhere in the years to roll. So, before all, question yourself what do you want from life and what do you expect your spouse to be?
Recommended Read: 10 tips to find your Truemate
Let’s delve directly into the traits you might be abstractly searching for in your idealistic soulmate, but perhaps could not figure out with precision.
RESPECT
To say it grossly,
“Love doesn’t guarantee respect, but respect does”
If your soul mate loves you, essentially doesn’t imply he/she respects you. But if your partner respects you, sooner or later, love would blossom and last through all seasons of life- spring and autumn.
Respect is shown in simple gestures and doesn’t need a word of mouth. If you share a difference, not making it obvious before a third person is a respect. If you drop a glass, then saying it was a slip, is a mark of respect. If you commit something to your friend, then keeping your commitment is respect.
Respect means knowing that each of you is on an equal footing in a relationship. No one’s superior or inferior and both of you have an equal say in everything.
Values Your Aspiration
Your soulmate must be your stimulus pushing you through your limits. He should share your dreams, be a part of them. He should be your prime applauded at the instance of glory and be your shoulder whenever you trip. He must be the one who brings out the best in you and believes in you even when you fail to.
Optimistic
The ability to find good in all and everything is quintessential for a happy life. Optimism brings in a ray of hope even when life is through its worst. A constantly complaining and a grumpy partner makes life dreadful. An optimistic partner can set your lips in an upward curve even in the gloomiest of hours.
Trustworthy
You surely know this. So what makes me reiterate this?
A reality check!
If you have an urge to check your better halves’ cell phone or email every now and then, where’s the trust?
If you fall prey to everyone’s notion and haste to a conclusion without finding out with your partner, where’s the trust?
If she doesn’t tell you something could be because she did not feel it is important enough, or didn’t want to bother you or thought you were too busy or might have simply forgotten. Who knows she might have some surprise plans for you!

Space
Not just your soulmate, but both of you should allow each other some ‘me’ time. He might want to spend some time with old buddies. She might want to go shopping with friends or just be quiet for some time. Give each other that space. For you know, she would only come back to you with re-energized love.
No Filters
Both of you must share the same mental frequency and be able to communicate to one another without any filter. There should absolutely be no fear of judgment and let your true selves out without any second thoughts.
A thing to remember. Do not choose for yourself a life partner. Find out for yourself a soul partner. For lives may part, souls can never.
“…and when one of them meets the other half, the actual half of himself, whether he be a lover of youth or a lover of another sort, the pair are lost in an amazement of love and friendship and intimacy and one will not be out of the other’s sight, as I may say, even for a moment…”– Plato

Newly Wed Husband-Musings Of A Newly Wed Husband
It’s not entirely a farcical argument that the onus of planning a wedding has more to do with the bride-to-be than her counterpart. That’s the whole problem for us males. We generally don’t know what to do. Among all the elation and hullabaloo that everyone looks engrossed in, we’re lost more often than not. Here is the mixed bag of emotions that we, as a newly wed husband, encounter:
Newly Wed Husband The Wedding Days Are Not Always Jovial
Yes, they are the best days of your life, but even the best isn’t flawless. Beyond a certain point, you ought to be frustrated with all that is going around. Maybe, it is just too much for comfort. After all, you are the ‘ newly wed husband ‘. Maybe, it is too good for you. And then, you will freak out, only temporarily, but you will. Overwhelming much, perhaps?
It Is Over Before It Actually Is
The cliché universally implies, so why spare the wedding? It flies by and you cannot keep track. Hitherto it is really important to embrace each moment, caress every single one and carefully put it into your bag of memories. So don’t get nervous, if that happens, you’ll lose everything that the day has to offer.
When You Go Back Home, It Might Just Be A Little Depressing
As depressing as it sounds, months of over-the-top planning, the ups and downs, and an extraordinary wedding weekend doesn’t tune into the frequency of a normal human life. Then, when it is all over, it is difficult to adjust. It is like an anti-climax to come back. You certainly miss the hullabaloo and the pampering, a newlywed husband and wife enjoy. Sadly, doesn’t matter much even if you’re heading for your honeymoon straight away. The feeling of upset will and it will creep in.
You, as the newlywed husband, will no doubt make a million memories with your wives all throughout your life. You will have great moments at work, in your personal life, and elsewhere. But you, for sure, will not have moments better than this one. This is not only a moment of decision, it a moment of promise, passion, and potential. Basically, life begins with this moment! Newly Wed Husband
Do Something Special For Her
This is relative. Don’t just write a letter expressing your feelings if you’ve already discovered that you have a high-maintenance partner. Go beyond the cut-off. Order her favorite food, the chocolates she absolutely loves and make it all look beautiful. The idea is to comfort her, to lay down the premise for a long and happy life.
Do Good With The Traditions
Okay, nobody is saying that all those traditions and ceremonies are relevant. We know the idiosyncrasies, but we also know that there’s no point running from them. So, try to take them positively. Participate with a good heart. Also, let’s not negate the unique charm of these concepts. It’s always good to see our parents, grandparents, great-grandparents (rarely) happy at the same time. There is no right or wrong traditions, only your traditions.
Don’t Drink Too Much
Kept this for the last. Be it Indian weddings, or ceremonies abroad, or anywhere in the world, alcohol flows free at least in one of the events. But being the groom, you don’t want to keep too much of it for yourself. After all, it’s for the friends and guests who’ve come all the way to wish you well. Basically, don’t get wasted. Keep your wits by yourself; you get only one such occasion in life (hopefully) and you don’t want to have the memories ‘wasted’.
Have Fun Throughout
Don’t get too conscious in the process. Damn the above points if they make you feel uncomfortable. It’s very important to feel comfortable yourself when you’re entrusted with making a young girl feel comfortable. Relax. Breath normal. Stay normal.

Post-Wedding – A New Beginning
She woke up and realized that it wasn’t her honeymoon suite anymore. Last night, they got back from what will be the most memorable holiday of her life. Now, the bags scattered around the room were to be unpacked. It was a new beginning. Fear bundled up at the corner of her heart as it suddenly felt too heavy. Something she kept escaping from, for a while. The wedding preparations and the excitement for the honeymoon kept her away from those thoughts for a while. But now, there was the fear, confronting her right in front of her eyes. A new place, new people, new beginning…
“She was startled, her husband, still asleep, comfortable in his bed, his home.”
While she was still gathering herself, someone knocked at the door. She was startled, her husband, still asleep, comfortable in his bed, his home. Somehow she managed to get up, picked up her ‘dupatta’, bowed down her eyes, and opened the door. Her sister-in-law stood there, ‘It’s just me bhabhi, not your saasu maa, you don’t have to shy away’, she chuckled.
‘Get ready, everyone is waiting for you downstairs.’ she said and went back. She came back again and said in a hurry, ‘do you need anything, bhabhi?’ ‘Thank you, Garima. I don’t need anything for now.’
Another feeling of anticipation crawled throughout her body; will they criticize me for sleeping so much? What should I wear? What if they don’t like it? What if they ask me to cook? A series of questions almost made her unconscious when suddenly she could feel the loving arms of her husband embracing her. With a caring kiss on her cheek, he said ‘Good morning, love!’ For a moment, she forgot everything. But, just for a moment. She kissed back and went over to unpack her bags to get something to wear that her ‘in-laws’ will approve of.

‘Anyway, we had something important to discuss.’
Downstairs, every eye followed the steps she took from upstairs. It made her stumble and she almost slipped, but there, the man of her life held her firmly. Her mother-in-law got up and accompanied her to the dining table. She said, ‘you could have worn something more comfortable, you must be tired with all the traveling’. Prachi didn’t expect that and just lowered her eyes. ‘Anyway, we had something important to discuss.’ That almost took her breath away. What will this important thing be?
‘Beta, now that we are done with all the functions and everything, would you like to join your job sometime soon?’ Prachi couldn’t believe what she just heard. Gautam had told him that his family won’t let her do a job. She realized it was a part of his jokes. Surely, he was going to pay for it, she thought.
‘Prachi, you are a part of the family now, as much as anyone of us. Don’t ever let anyone make you feel any less. You can do anything given that it shouldn’t harm you. You might have busy schedules in the weekdays; you can sleep till late on weekends. Garima does, and for us, you are no different from her. You don’t need to worry if you don’t know how to cook, I will teach you bit by bit. There is no hurry. We can tolerate a few burnt chapattis if that’s what it takes you to learn. Make yourself home, beta’, said her mother-in-law, concluding it with a kiss on her forehead.

It suddenly felt like home. Those were not just words. All the fear Prachi had about a new beginning, seemed to vanish away in an instant. After the breakfast, they all sat and talked like one happy family. Nobody could predict that it was her first day in the family.
It’s acceptance that makes happy families. A new beginning doesn’t have to be that hard if everyone makes efforts instead of expecting it from the one, who has already left every single thing in her life, to be with the love of her life and his family. For her to accept every new thing, it’s important to show a little love, to assure her that she is accepted, without chains. She will be the family if she feels like one. Show some love; embrace the new member of your family without putting up a baggage of expectations on her!

Pre Wedding Jitters That Every Couple Faces
Marriage is without any doubt one of the biggest life-changing decisions that you will ever make or come across and that’s why the pre wedding jitters are considered quite a normal phenomenon or experience which both the brides and the grooms have to go through. But here’s the basic problem- how do you tell when your sixth sense is actually warning you for the right reason about the impending doom and when the butterflies in your stomach are nothing that you should get yourself even stressed out about?
Pre Wedding Jitters
Deviating from the archaic norms as advised by our grandparents and keeping the changing trends of marriage in mind, marriage counsellors are actually there to advise brides and grooms to take some time out for themselves and to rationalise exactly what is making them dread the very special wedding day.
Thinking about all those issues that may concern you but which may not have been adequately addressed openly and which when opened could bring in a certain amount of clarity and help you make and decide what to do next. Let’s take a look at some of such pre wedding jitters or concerns:
1. The Constant Fights Amid the Couple
The fairy tales tell us that our Prince Charming will be the tailor-made to suit our every need but in reality, it is a very different picture altogether. While many women think that an ideal life partner should be one whose every interest undoubtedly matches with theirs, counsellors don’t really hold the same point of view. Beautiful marriages have been built by couples who have a completely different array of likes and interests.
However, if you find that the two of you can’t even meet at a halfway with regard to making the smaller decisions before the marriage, then you shouldn’t be under the illusion that marriage itself will be the reason to solve everything. In all likelihood, you will definitely end up marrying the very wrong person!
2. The Risk of Getting Hereditary Diseases
When asking a guy to take an AIDS test before marriage was once considered as a major taboo but the same is not there anymore. You have every right to know if the guy you are willing to marry is at risk of getting a lifestyle disease. Likewise, your partner too has the right to know if there are any diseases running in your family which he may not be aware of.
We suggest that the best way to tackle with this pre-wedding jitter is to talk about your concern in a private manner with your partner and then go for a full medical check-up together before the wedding. After you say your vows, you don’t need to feel like you both had hidden anything from each other.
3. The Liking of Each Others Family Issues
Do you need to ask yourself this question that what exactly is it about his family that you really don’t like? Is it that they haven’t really taken to you, or that they don’t really gel with your own parents or that you just don’t know them well enough? Not getting along with one’s in-laws is the standard and one of the most common pre wedding jitters for any bride to beat!
However, we suggest that you should consider taking time understanding each member of his family individually and for doing so one of the best ways is to build up a bond which is to find a hobby or class or an activity or even go out for a movie together. In spite of all your efforts, if you still feel that there is an untouched vacuum, rethinking the marriage may be the best option in such circumstances.
We would like to recommend that though everyone has pre wedding jitters we should not let them take charge of your decisions beyond limits. We should definitely consider them but once all the doubts are cleared, we should not try to dig in so deep that it ends up spoiling the relationship between the couple.
Do share your thoughts on it and what’s your way of overcoming it?

What Not to Think of Marriage? Hint: The End
We all have grown up hearing things like marriage is sacred, it’s something that changes our life, it’s something that makes us complete and a whole lot of other such things. The movies we grew up watching showcased the husband as Parmeshwar (God), the earner, and the lady as an underdog. It has consciously or unconsciously shaped what we think of marriage as grownups and unfortunately, a significant part of the generation in the contemporary world is scared of marriage just because of this ‘notion’ of marriage we have grown up with. All the time you ask people (in all good sense) if they want to get married, you get to hear ‘I don’t want to give up on this so soon’, ‘Aren’t you happy that I am living my life?’, and plenty of other things like that.
Perception Towards Marriage
Why do we have this conception of marriage at all? If we have an issue with any aspect of the union, aren’t we the only people responsible for bringing a change? Marriage is beautiful only if you look at it without all the judgments people have against it and the typical ideologies that are being carried by it since times immemorial. Had it been a couple of years ago, I wouldn’t be writing this at all. I am not defending the motion just because I am happily married. But because I understand it from proximity and can bet that your marriage is entirely what you make out of it, not what others think about it or the society wants you to be.
Either you choose to crib about being married and no more this and that, or you build a home that defies the unacceptable facets of the primaeval married life. I weaved this blog around the concerns and issues people have against marriage and what they think of marriage in general. I am not in any sense guarding or attacking any particular group of people but my intention is to just try and bring out the essence we really miss out while judging the institution and the people getting into it.
She says, “Marriage is my Careers’ end.”
Now, “I want to get settled first” is totally fine but as soon as it changes to “Marriage is my Careers’ end”, we need to look into this. This is mostly with women because as per the ancient belief, the woman is supposed to stay at home and cook for her family. If someone chooses to, there’s nothing wrong with it. But if you don’t choose it, it’s entirely your decision. It’s not the ancient world you are living in where you will be forced to end your career as soon as you get the title of ‘Mrs.’ with your name.
Look at it the other way. Your partner can be a real support system when you feel there’s nothing going right. There are so many success stories where a husband and a wife together managed to build something remarkable and agreed that they couldn’t have done this without each other. It’s not like you can’t do anything on your own, but having a partner can be counted as a bonus.

He says,“Marriage is the end of my social life.”
Mostly for guys, but this phrase can’t be stereotyped, both the genders think it to be true. Men think a wife would be too nosey and won’t let them go out with their friends, no more ‘only guys’ hangout, etc. etc. etc. But how about having one more friend who barely says no to any of your ‘probably flop’ plans? If you look at your life partner as a best friend and not as a surveillance camera, maybe you will get it right. Adding her to your friend group will probably just increase the fun? And you get another group of friends (her friends) too. Another Bonus! (I am not biased, same goes for the women out there too!).
She says, “I don’t want to spend my life in the kitchen.”
On a very honest note, you don’t have to. If someone is marrying you for having his breakfast and dinner needs fulfilled, the person is wrong, not the institution. Don’t think of marriage like that. Though for some (including me and fortunately my husband) cooking is a hobby and something they willingly take interest in, some might not be comfortable with it. But it’s completely normal!
We don’t need to blame on the institution for what we think of marriage
We are now so scared of marriage that even if someone we know is getting married we humorously say “Dude, that’s the end of your life”, and we never realize when the humor became a societal norm and affected someone’s view on life post marriage. What really matters is who we are choosing as our life partner. We don’t need to blame on the institution for what we think of marriage, we just need to get someone who compliments our thoughts and can lend a hand in balancing our boat through the ocean of life. Filmy enough? Well, that’s how it is but it’s wonderful and it’s your own movie so you get to cast the right people, direct it to the story you want, and instead of “The End”, let it be “Happily ever after…”

Get Your Own Personal Wedding Website At eWedding
Getting a personal wedding website (wedsites) for your wedding is the coolest trend today as almost everyone is trying it, considering the aid it offers in the planning and communication during the whole process. It can be used to communicate with wedding guest, send them the invitation, inform them about the location, time, venue etc. and also to share your gift registry with them. There are many platforms to get your wedding websites. One such platform which provides both free, as well as premium wedding websites that are not only easy to make but also gives you a whole range of options to customize your website according to your own will and choice, is eWedding.
Fortunately, we got a chance to interview Matt, the man behind eWedding and his journey so far of growing a seed into a running business. Here we go –
Wedamor – Tell us something about eWedding, the team behind, and the how the idea was conceived?
eWedding – eWedding wasn’t even planned initially! Amy and I were about to get married (all the way back in 2002) and I made a wedding website with us to share with family and friends. It was very rudimentary, nothing compared to what’s available today, but it shared our stories, photos and some details of the wedding day itself. The response we got from everyone was overwhelming, I thought “Maybe other couples could benefit from something like this!” With Amy’s encouragement, we started down this path. That was the seed that grew into the business we have today.
Wedamor – Briefly describe the services/features you are offering through eWedding and what makes you different from your competitors?
eWedding – We offer one of the easiest to use wedding website builders on the Net. Our couples don’t find it overwhelming or confusing, we built it to be as simple as possible. We also focus on quality designs, not pumping out large numbers just for the sake of numbers. We’re actually working on a whole new host of tools and are so excited to release them in the coming months. They offer more options and wedding planning organization than any tools in the market. We also offer very cool functions like real-time text messaging when your guests’ complete forms on your website, like RSVP. We have so much in the pipeline, but I can’t spill the beans yet!
Wedamor – Good to hear that. Was it difficult for you to pull couples to try the concept when you started, considering it as new and outlandish? What was the initial reaction you got from them?
eWedding – Like I mentioned earlier, the first version of eWedding came out almost 15 years ago! There were hardly any other services doing this then, so couples flocked and helped us grow extremely fast. Since then, we have had couples from nearly every country around the globe using our services. We’re so proud to be able to help so many people.
Wedamor – Why do you think couples must try and have their own wedding site (Value Proposition)?
eWedding – Wedding websites are about so much more than just a photo and some dates. We’re really building in extreme usefulness to help automate the couples planning processes and to save them time and stress. Some of those features include: Our Total RSVP system. It consists of an Open RSVP option that allows anyone to RSVP for their events or our Closed RSVP system that bases the RSVPs off the couple’s guest list. There’s nothing worse than an awkward un-invite, couples need to be able to control who sees what and which events they’re invited to (and which ones they’re not).
We’re just launching our updated registry system this month. You can link to a standard store registry like before, but so many couples are now raising funds for their honeymoons. We now give couples the option to collect money right from their wedding website to put towards honeymoons, home down payment, or any other gift they want to put it towards. The money is then deposited right to their bank account. It doesn’t get better than that, right?
Wedamor – Would you like to share some sample wedding sites (Images + links) made by users at eWedding with our audience?
eWedding – Absolutely, here’s a few sites that couples have allowed us to share:
2) happilyeverafter-souadandwalid.com
Wedamor – What has been your biggest challenge so far in starting and running eWedding?
eWedding – The only challenge we run into is time. We have so many plans and tools in the works, it just takes more time to push them out then you want. We’re nearing our major update though, so we’re all excited as we complete this massive release.
Wedamor – How has the journey been so far and what are your future plans?
eWedding – It has been awesome! How great is it to have a job where you can help young couples around the world plan for their big day! We love pushing forward as new technology allows us to offer even more planning and automation tools. We have so much to come down the line that we can’t wait to release to the couples around the world!

Why Demand For US-based NRIs Has Fallen In The Indian Wedding Market
The demand for US-based NRIs in the Indian wedding market has fallen drastically over the past few years. Even NRI grooms and brides are now looking for their better halves based in India rather than abroad. There are quite a few reasons that this change has come about:
-
Recession
Around 2008, a recession hit the world and hit it hard. The US was one of the countries affected by the recession and that showed in their progress as a nation. Thus, the same was also reflected in the decrease in demand for Indian grooms based in the USA. Over these years, there was a noticeable change even in the online wedding portals. Most people started opting for the ‘No NRIs’option.
-
NRIs moving back to India
In 2011, the US was stripped off of its AAA rating and downgraded to an AA+ rating. This caused NRIs to leave the US and head back home. If this wasn’t enough, job cuts and decreased salaries also became common and only gave the NRIs more incentives to take a flight to India. Naturally, this resulted in a lesser demand for US-based NRIs in the Indian wedding market too.

Hey, we are smart too
Over time, the Indian public realised that the Indian economy was booming, in comparison to the rather unstable economy of the US. Indians working in India had equally good job profiles and were definitely as smart. The US began to give no advantage over India and so, the demand for US-based NRIs in the Indian wedding market decreased further. Read more at Hindustan Times.

Yes, the 9/11. It was not the attack that affected NRIs as such, but it was more to do with the way NRIs in the US were treated after that. Indian parents became reluctant after these happenings to let their children go to the US. They, instead, started looking for good matches within India itself.

The Trump Effect
The present US President Donald Trump’s strict immigration policies have worried Indian parents and citizens and online wedding portals have statistically proved the same. The number of Indians looking for US based NRIs has decreased due to the political developments that have taken place ever since Donald Trump has taken over.

Hate crimes
Over the past few months, the frequency and number of hate crimes in the US have increased drastically. With these occurrences taking place way too often, it brings about a lot of doubt in Indians’ mind about settling in the US. Hence, they have shifted to looking for matches within the country.

Zero Advantage
Modern Indians have seen India develop to become a huge nation. They now argue that the US has nothing more to offer to them than India. Keeping true to those words in every sense, they even look for their soulmates within the country itself. Want to know more? Click here to read at The Times Of India.
Over the past 10 or so years, all these reasons have come together and accumulated to bring down the demand for US-based NRIs in the Indian wedding market. Think you don’t agree? Or maybe you have a couple of more points for us? Feel free to comment below and let us know!

10 Things to Keep In Mind Before Selecting Wedding Venues In India
“Consider your partner in every decision you make, because every decision you make will impact them in some way.” As an engaged couple, one of the most significant decisions you must make is where you would like the magic to happen. Selecting a wedding venue is not exactly a walk in the park, it is a big deal. It will be the place where two hearts are united for eternity. Therefore, the scene where this will happen will hold a lot of meaning and hence must be ideal for the couple. Here are the 10 major things to keep in mind when selecting wedding venues in India.
1. The Magical Moment
When will the wedding take place? You must already have a date you wish to remember every year. The first thing to do is choose the day of the wedding and the time will fall into place. Once the date is decided only then can you start the search for your wedding venue as it must available for the date of choice.
2. Wedding Theme
The engaged couples should figure out a theme for the wedding. You should decide what suits you best and what would make you happiest as a couple. The theme of the wedding will help with the color coordination, flower and linen (or drapes) arrangements and other preparations that need to be carefully planned out while selecting wedding venues in India. A fairytale wedding will have a different venue and décor than a tropical wedding or a vintage wedding.

3. Location
By deciding what type of wedding you would want, you can narrow down the search for a wedding venue. Is it a traditional wedding or something more modern and innovative? Would you like a historical scene or a romantic scene? Would you want it indoors or outdoors? Will it be classy or slightly casual only for family and close friends? It depends on how your style of the wedding will be. It can have a water fountain in the garden or by the sea. It can also be in a church or hotel. Make a list of places you are interested in that fit your criteria. Temperature also plays a very important role in the case of destination weddings when selecting wedding venues in India because India is a very diverse country in terms of culture and geography as we experience freezing temperatures in mountains to hot and humid, and mild weather conditions in deserts, plains, drylands, beaches, and tropical rainforests. Not every guest will find the climate of your chosen location for wedding suitable to set them in good mood.
4. The Guest List
The scene you may have in mind can occupy only so much. One needs to make a guest list of those invited to the wedding and check with the selected wedding venue if the count is viable or if any modifications are required. Some venues may have had a strict guest count as the location can hold a certain capacity. These details are to be considered as you select your wedding venue. The confirmed guest count is necessary at least 3 days prior to the occasion. It is also important to come up with a responsible estimate of your guest list earlier in order to plan your budget and select the right wedding venue or reception location.

5. Visit the Venue
Once you have a list of narrowed-down choices of wedding venues, it’s time to visit them. Only when you visit the venues, you will get a feel of the place. The engaged couples should make this visit together under any circumstance so that they get an impression of the scene. If you don’t feel content with it, then eliminate it and visit the next choice on the list. When the couple is happy with the expectations of the wedding venue, they can choose to reserve it or come back again later and visit the rest until they are 100% sure of the venue they want.
6. Lights, Camera, Action.
The list of selected wedding venues may have slimmed down to a handful few, but not the perfect one. Lighting is essential especially if the event is to be held at night. Photographers are a must, of course, to click exquisite pictures of the moments as while selecting wedding venues in India there are some low budget venues whose built may not appeal as the right background to give your wedding a glamorous and royal candid photoshoot
7. Amenities
Check the wedding venue for all its amenities such as restrooms, chairs, tables, A/V equipment, security, parking facilities, driving and traffic considerations, dancing, and bar privileges. Apart from this, does the venue have catering services? These are to be checked as you come close to picking your wedding venue.

8. Unpredictable Weather
If the event is to be held outdoors in a garden or the beach, then a contingency plan for unpredictable weather is essential as discussed earlier that when selecting wedding venues in India the geography and topography varies drastically from north to south and east to west which can tell one a lot about the weather conditions. A lush green area experiences a lot of rainfall in Maharashtra, Uttarakhand or Puducherry whereas a desert area in Rajasthan or plain states such as New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab etc. can have an unpredictable weather with usually extreme summers and winters and less rainfall.
9. Restrictions?
Wedding venues do tend to have quite a few restrictions, such as no smoking or a time limit. Any restrictions on the catering services – will they cater for you or can you hire outside caterers and use the kitchen. If they offer catering services then can you have a choice of the menu and testing of the food? Provisions of a bar and/or dance floor for dancing. Some wedding venues have their own planner and a restriction would be to work with them to plan out all the arrangements.
10. Budget!
Now, the only thing left for you to consider would be the budget. Food and alcohol (if any) can account for the greatest part of the budget. Can you afford it keeping in mind the guest count, the location, the amenities and extra facilities? Would you get a discount on any offseason dates or Sundays? The correct split up for each component that you would be paying for. Will it cost extra if you need to stay longer? Everything boils down to “how much this will cost you”.
Using the above 10 things needed for selecting wedding venues in India, you can pick the perfect place to get married. Once the venue is selected, all that is left is to book it and it’s yours. Try to book your wedding venue at least a year in advance to prevent any last minute complications. As it is your day, you should have it your way.

Buh Bye Pre-Wedding Jitters
If you find yourself reading this article then you are probably one of those brides getting the ‘pre-wedding jitters’. Are you restlessly searching tips to get away from the wedding stress that is bothering you? Then you are at the right place. A Wedding is an event that only comes once in your life. It undoubtedly marks your most important transition and change in life.
Naturally every bride is bound to get the pre-wedding jitters, stress, and anxiety and it is perfectly normal. Your special milestone day has to be perfect and there are just so many things that go into a wedding. Not just that but the idea of attaching someone’s last name to yours and going on to commit to someone you will spend your whole life with is a huge deal. It is thought to provoke and very daunting sometimes as much as it is exciting. To conquer these bombarding mixed feelings pre-wedding jitters, here are some great tips that you can follow. It will certainly help you overcome those churning gurgles in your stomach and rest the goosebumps on your body.
1) EXERCISE
I cannot highlight the importance of this enough. I know that as a bride you will be asked to stay fit and will be encouraged to start a whole new gym routine so that you look flawless on your wedding day. However, all that, causes pressure to have a great body for your special day. In turn how you need to approach exercise is in a fun way that channels your energies in the right way. Try playing some sports as those are super fun as well as the best cardio ever. If you are not stressed out about being fit then working out will automatically become fun and will also deliver great results. This will take your mind off the other stress and keep you busy. Sweat all the toxins and negative vibes out and trust me this is the best thing you can do for yourself.
2) MEDITATE AND DO YOGA
Yoga connect us to our roots and fills us with nothing but positivity. I have to say that this is so refreshing and rejuvenating that it beats any other form of exercise. It works on not just our outer physical toning but also our inner chakras and peace of mind. Meditation is recommended as a complement to any form of exercise you are doing in order to eliminate the wedding worries. Whenever you feel overwhelmed with whatever that is going on then close your eyes, take deep breaths and exhale all that stress that is bothering you. It is effective and necessary to have a calm and healthy mind on your wedding day. Yoga is the number one way to stay fit and relaxed and before beginning your yoga warm up in the form of exercise is recommended. If lifting, exercise and hardcore sports ain’t your things, you can go for a more relaxed version of treadmills to warm up.
3) CHILL WITH YOUR BEST FRIEND
They say friends are the best therapists that also have fun with you and it cannot get more accurate than this. Your best friend will truly come to your rescue when you want to talk it out, hit the spa, pop some squats, jump in the pool, go out to have some drinks or even watch movies with you all day. This is the one person who will not say ‘NO’ to you even if she knows you are making a bad decision, instead she will stick with you through that decision to make sure she takes care of you. She will never disappoint you and will always tolerate you being paranoid about your wedding. If those pre-wedding jitters are troubling you then don’t be afraid to call your best friend even at 4 a.m. and asking her to come by and be your comfort pillow.

4) TALK TO THE MARRIED COUPLES
Just as in every other aspect of life, it is always good to seek advice from someone who is experienced and been there done that. In the case of pre-wedding jitters do not feel shy or uncomfortable to ask any of your married friend or newly-wed couples in the family about marriage effects. If your mind is bombarded with questions about how your life will take a turnover after marriage or how does it feel to be married and so on then go ahead and shoot to someone already in that field. It will always make you feel more confident and happy.
5) WEDDING MISTAKES? LAUGH IT OFF
While everyone wants their wedding to be perfect, it is really hard to get every element right and working. One of the biggest factor of the stress branches from the reason that you get upset about something that is not on point. But if everyone does work out perfectly then you would not have anything to make fun of. Laugh off the wedding mistakes and turn them into a funny memory. Do not let the stress of getting everything right get the better of you. Additionally, the more you smile the more beautiful will you look on your wedding day. The bridal smile is the most powerful and perfect element there needs to be on your wedding and it is the most amazing accessory that you can wear. So, LAUGH IT OFF, GIRL.

A wedding day is a most awaited day in a girl’s entire existence. Every girl wishes to look her best on this day as it marks the beginning of her new life. So, be it a wedding, festival or some other event, everything has its uniqueness. Indian brides differ from culture to region to religion and it is because India is a diverse country which is rich in culture and beholds many religions with different values and customs. That is why there are so many Indian bridal looks in our country from Kashmir to South.
In India, wedding is not just about celebrating the union of two individuals, but rather it is a promise to be with that person not only in this life but for the next seven lives or for Saat Janam. In India, weddings are usually a large affair where you can see brides flaunting their best looks. So, here we present some Indian bridal looks for you that will leave you awestruck.
Indian bridal looks
1. Sikh Bride
A Sikh bride can wear either a lehenga or anarkali suit for Anand Karaj ceremony. No matter how many jewels and gems a Sikh bride wears, but her look is never complete without chooda and kalire. Her chooda comprises of white, red, pink bangles which are given to the bride by her maternal uncle and aunt. The kalire are bright golden or silver trinkets which are tied on bride’s chooda by her maternal uncle. The bride covers her head with a veil during the entire wedding ceremony.
2. Punjabi Bride
Well, who hasn’t heard about the big fat Punjabi weddings? I am sure everyone has because they are so grand and lavish. Similarly, the Punjabi bride’s lehengas are grand and heavy with lots of glitters and embroidery. Usually, they are pink, red and maroon in colour; however, white and black are avoided. Punjabi brides lehengas are to die for. They are usually teamed with gold and diamond jewellery. Nose ring or nath forms an integral part of the jewellery.
3. Christian Bride
Indian Christians have certain cultures different from others depending on their region. Not all Christian brides wear a white dress on their wedding day, some prefer to wear sarees. However, those who opt for wearing a white dress have a net veil supported by a tiara, a white flower bouquet and a traditional practice of bride walking down the aisle in the church with her father.
4. Muslim Bride
The Muslim bride usually wears a bright red or yellow ghaagra, a heavily pleated skirt with a long blouse embroidered in gold. The dupatta is hung low, covering her bowed head. The most notable thing in brides attire is her jewellery especially the jhoomar. A silk cloth is tied on her wrist wrapping the silver or gold coin given by groom’s mother before the wedding. A Muslim brides eye makeup is something to die for. The fineness of the kajal makes her look more and more beautiful.
5. Assamese Bride
As per the Assamese culture and tradition, the bride has to wear the mekhela chadar, a traditional bridal outfit given by groom’s mother. It is a silk saree with gold work and is cream or off-white in colour. She wears traditional jewellery, and maang tikka is considered as auspicious. Brides do not wear heavy makeup.
6. Tamilian Bride
The Tamilian bride wears a bright coloured kanjeevaram saree with zari border. Bride’s hair is tied in a braid which is then decorated with traditional gold jewellery. Their head is completely decorated with gold jewellery comprising of single string maang tikka and matha patti and long earrings.
7. Bengali Bride
Bengali brides usually wear a white or off-white benarasi silk sarees with zari work and red or maroon borders. Alta is a major part of her makeup. It is applied on her feet. She wears a maang tikka supported by a single matha patti. White and red dots of sandalwood paste are painted in the area above her eyebrows.
8. Telugu Bride
The Telugu bride changes into two bridal looks during her wedding ceremony. She wears a silk saree with all the jewellery and kamarbandh when she is brought in a tokri by her brother and maternal uncle, and for the jeelakarra bellam ceremony, she changes into white cotton saree with red border.
9. Marwari Bride
A Marwari bride wears a heavy lehenga or a saree with gold or silk work. Just like her outfit, her jewellery is also heavy. Borla- a fingerlet; a kundan- a neckpiece and gold nath are the most important jewellery for a Marwari bride.
10. Maharashtrian Bride
A string of flowers or pearls called mundavalya differentiates Maharashtrian bridal look from other Indian bridal looks. Her saree is a double tone silk saree with golden border called paithani, which she wears in a dhoti style. She ties her hair in a bun with mogra flowers.
11. Gujarati Bride
Unlike other Indian bridal looks, Gujarati bridal look is very different. Gujarati bride wears her pallu facing the front. She wears two Sarees during her wedding ceremony a panetar and gharchola. Panetar is a white saree with red, golden, green dots. It is the last gift from her parents and relatives side. Gharchola is a bright red saree with a silk and zari work given by her in-laws symbolising their acceptance of her as their daughter-in-law.
12. Malayali Bride
For the wedding, Malayali brides are dressed up in white silk sarees with golden borders. They prefer flowers jewellery to compliment their outfit which includes gajra, jasmine and rajanigandha flowers.
13. Kashmiri Bride
Among the entire Indian bridal looks, Kashmiri bridal look is my favourite. The traditional outfit turns them into ethereal beauties. It involves a pheran, which is a raffle outlined with an ari or snare embroidery at the neck, sleeve and edges; it can be in red, yellow and pink shading. The headwear includes kalpush alongside zoojh (a white shading fabric with brilliant golden paper), and large the whole thing is called Tarang. The bride either wears a saree or lehenga and dupatta is worn over the head.
14. Andhra Bride
Andhra bride usually keeps their attire very simple. They wear a silk saree with checkered and patterned work. In jewellery, they wear a neckpiece, earrings and bajubandh.
15. Oriya Bride
An Oriya bride wears a heavy lehenga or saree with hand work usually red, maroon or magenta in colour. The couple wears a traditional headgear during their wedding.
Conclusion
So, these were some of the different kinds of Indian bridal looks from all over India. These brides symbolise the mixture of different traditions and culture that our country beholds.

Many people say that this is the last time the bride and the groom get to loosen up a bit, and as their close acquaintances, it is kind of your responsibility to plan the whole thing out. The wedding checklist for buddies needs to start with you and your other friends throwing the bride and the groom a party to remember. Set the date in compliance with everyone you might expect in the event.
2. Be a Helping Hand
One of the most important points in your “wedding checklist for buddies” has to be your duty as a friend. Before the wedding adventure kicks off, insist on helping them. Assist them in dress shopping, fitting sessions, deciding on the invitations etc. You could also maintain a diary with the entire timeline of the wedding and important phone numbers. You can simply help being a second contact that the wedding planner has access to, this can really make a difference. Serve as the groom/ bride’s personal aide and adviser before and during the wedding.
3. The Dress
For the bridesmaids, if you’re being given a dress, make sure you accept it gracefully. And if not, the bride or the groom, in this case, may want a specific colour or style, so do go in accordance with them. After all, it’s their wedding and most importantly, they’re your friend. And that starts with what you’re going to wear. Don’t keep the attire until the last minute. So look for options online or get it tailor made weeks before the wedding if you have something in your mind. Plan it way in advance in case alterations have to be made.
4. Hair and Skin Care
Now it’s time to think about yourself! We all can accept the fact that we don’t really take care of ourselves. We don’t get time from our busy schedules to pamper ourselves but when it’s your best friend’s wedding, you just have to look your absolute best. Top 10 Relationship Tips For Newly Weds
Our relationships with people is a struggle to maintain these days. The most important part of our lives is always are better halves. How to keep the romance alive all the time? How not to make any mistakes and lead a life of happiness? These simple tips may seem like common sense, but you may be surprised at how often people forget about their importance. Once a couple of people have settled into a relationship, things can fall into a bit of a rut. Routines form, the attentiveness that was present at the beginning of the courtship might be replaced by content complacency, and ultimately tensions arise.ed at how often people forget about their importance. The few most simplified and easy to follow best relationship tips for newly weds and all the couples are as followed:
BEST RELATIONSHIP TIPS FOR NEWLY WEDS
1. Never Take Each Other for Granted
This might be as simple as thanking them for doing the dishes after you’ve eaten dinner, or telling them how much it means to you that they make your coffee/tea exactly the way you like it. This relationship tips for newly weds can be useful anyhow. They’ll feel appreciated for the love and kindness they show you, and will express their appreciation to you in turn, so no one ever feels like their actions aren’t being acknowledged. Be aware of every wonderful thing that your partner does for you, and express your gratitude whenever possible.
2. Respect Each Other’s Alone Time
Too much time spent together can make you irritable, especially if you feel like your personal space is always being invaded. Time alone is necessary for personal reflection, growth, meditation, or even just quiet contemplation. Nesly weds should practise this tip for having their relatiopnship going good. Remember that absence makes the heart grow fonder, and you’ll appreciate your partner a lot more after having some space away from them. If you live together, it might be a good idea to have personal spaces that you can retreat to: either individual offices, or a garage workshop for one person and an attic library for another. Togetherness is important, but just as important (if not more so) is the ability to spend time alone.
3. Share Some Hobbies, and Have Solo Pursuits as Well
You might not share your partner’s love of MMORPGs, and they may not be interested in your love of foreign films, and you know what? That’s absolutely okay. While it’s great to pursue some hobbies and interests together, it’s important to have your own social groups and interests as well. This relationship tips for newly weds can be useful anyhow. Take cooking classes or swing dance lessons together, hook up with friends to go to wine tasting nights, but then split off for your individual pursuits: you’ll have fun things to talk about when you meet up afterwards.
4. Admit When You’re Wrong (or When They’re Right)
This may be difficult for some people to do, but it really is important. If you discover that you’ve been wrong about an issue/bit of information/whatnot, own up to it: you’ll gain your partner’s appreciation and respect if you do, and if you don’t, you’re just proving yourself to be an immature, pouty jerk. Additionally, if you’ve been discussing something and your partner turns out to be in the right, acknowledge that fact: they may have been filled with self-doubt, and acknowledging their awareness or knowledge may boost their self-esteem exponentially. This relationship tips for newly weds can be useful.
5. Have Faith In Your Partner
Another impostant relationship tip for newly weds is this. Having trust and faith in another person can be difficult, especially if you’ve been hurt by others in the past. If you’ve been cheated on or otherwise betrayed by another partner, you might worry that the same thing will happen in your current relationship, and this may cause you to imagine things or accuse your partner without just cause. If you find that your own insecurities are poisoning your partnership, talk it out with them and consider seeking therapy: they’re not the person who hurt you, so please don’t assume that just because one person treated you badly, everyone else will too.
6. Mutual Goals are Important
It’s great to have a goal or a project that you’re both working on together, as that can affect many aspects of your life outside of your actual relationship. You could be working on an art piece, saving up for a trip, building a cottage, or even working on a garden. Determine your strengths for the project so you’re working in harmony, and build something amazing that you can be proud of having achieved as a team. This relationship tips for newly weds can be useful too.
7. Be honest
Some people lie to their partners for years out of fear of hurting or offending them, but that can lead to a whole lot of ugliness on all sides. The one being lied to will know that something is wrong, and the one lying may feel more and more frustration about holding back and the relationship may end up suffering badly as a result. This honesty doesn’t have to deal with outright lies, but rather personal interests or preferences that may have changed over the years. Alternately, there could be some serious issues that really should be dealt with, but are internalized out of fear of hurting the other person. Ultimately, honesty really is the best policy, and a strong couple will be able to work through just about anything together.
8. Leave the Past In the past
If you work through a hardship together and come to a positive resolution, move past it and use the experience as an opportunity to learn and grow. Don’t refer back to it during arguments, don’t bring it up as a means of guilt-tripping your partner, and try not to assume that just because something happened once, that it’ll happen again. What’s passed is past, and rehashing old ugliness will just poison future happiness. Let it go. This relationship tips for newly weds can also be useful.
9 .Don’t “Let Yourself Go”
It’s inevitable that once certain comfort levels have been reached and closeness wins out over early awkwardness, some behavioral patterns will change. You might not spend an hour prepping before dinner to make sure that your hair is perfect, or your partner might wear the same pants for two days in a row without worrying about what you might think of their outfit. That’s totally normal, and really quite hilarious. That said, closer comfort levels don’t mean that you should neglect your personal hygiene, or let your living space fall into complete ruin. You know they’re not going to judge you if you leave pizza boxes all over the floor, but that doesn’t mean that you should. Try to keep things tidy and your appearance a step or two above “slovenly,” and your partner will undoubtedly feel that they’re worth making an effort for.
10. Communication is vital
And the most impostant relationship tip for newly weds. Very few of us are able to read one another’s minds, so it’s important to express things that weigh on us, whether they’re positive or negative. Little behaviors that bother us can become more irksome over time, so it’s good to address them early, before the irritation accumulates to the point of anger. Similarly, miscommunications can lead to some pretty ugly arguments, so if you’re uncertain about something, try to discuss it calmly so you can sort things out: you may have misheard or misread something your partner said/did and taken it totally out of context, so clarify before freaking out about anything. Even though we may feel that we know our partners well after being with them for several years, remember that we all grow and change over time, and methods of communication must change along with us as needed.
This was all from us, remember efforts are always important. Take care friends!

Wedding Guest List: Tips for Preparation.
Wedding trends in India have come a long way from having the ceremony at our own homes, to offering only flavored syrups and to the present day burlesque which embraces high-end hotels and catering services. And in this sprint of culture and modernization, constraints of budget and venue dimensions call for a strict scrutiny of the wedding guest list.
We understand that your wedding is the most notable phenomenon in both of yours’ lives and so do we understand the grief of having cut-short your wedding guest list. And so here we are to tip you on how to overcome the dilemma of whom to invite and whom not to.
As always, first things first. So first decide on your wedding venue and catering budget and then accordingly calculate the number of guests you can receive and attend to. For example, if you decide to call in 500 individuals prepare for 500 but invite only 450 in the first place. The remaining 50 would be filled in with last-minute invites and guest’s guests.
Recommended Read: Must Have Guest Facilities At Your Wedding Venue
Okay, so how do you do it?
The first step, divide the number of guests from the groom’s and bride’s end in a ratio whichever fits in your case. You could go for 50:50 or 60:40. Next, once you have your share of guest numbers at hand, it’s time you divide the number between your parents and yourself. Once that is done, sit together with them, and prepare the list of all the people you wish to have on your wedding events. And now, it is time to truncate names from the list to fit into your desired numbers and give final shape to your wedding guest list.
Against each name, mark with an ‘M’ or a ‘C’. M for ‘Must ‘and C for ‘Could’.
People in the ‘M’ category are the ones we cannot imagine being without on any special occasion of our life. This mainly includes close kinsman, blood-related uncle, aunt, cousins and closest pals. While marking people in this category it is very important to note that people in our wedding guest lists are the “witnesses” of our nuptial. Hence, these should be the ones you will be sure-shot in touch with even after years down the lane.
Next, ‘C’ category should comprise of people like our neighbors, acquaintances, co-workers, colleagues, distant relatives, and likes. Now the major chucking off from your wedding guest list has to be done from this ‘C’ list.
So, if you feel, that you have not known or have barely seen a relative of yours for over years, don’t feel guilty of scratching him/her from the list.
If you were a part of the wedding guest list of a friend years back, but have not heard of/from him for a long time, you may delete his name too.
If someone was once your neighbor, that person may be off your list. But here, your relationship with your present and previous neighbors have a primary say.
Talking of professional acquaintances, you can invite only those people who you want to be in touch with even once you stop going to the same place. But if you invite all your teammates but for one, it would rather look rude. So invite just one, or, two, or invite all or none at all.
Likewise goes for your second cousins, friends, and distant relatives. People sharing same relationship-either all of them be invited or none of them.
Another tip to shorten your wedding guest list is to go for an only adult wedding. But of course you cannot call your younger first cousins or kids in a very proximate relationship.
I hope this article has eased your dilemma of whom to invite and whom not to while preparing your wedding guest list

hopeless, indian woman, married woman, paraya dhan, stand with her, where is her home, woman problem 0
Where is her home? Decoding the question of every woman’s life!
There are many people who will just keep on reminding her parents that she is ‘Paraya Dhan’. Not only them but even when she is growing up, she is constantly advised to learn to behave as she has to move on to someone else’s house someday. The irony can be identified here only. Will she go to her own home, where is she already then? or will she go to someone else’s home? One question arises in both the situations – Where is her home? It’s not something that happens to a fraction of the people, it happens to almost every woman, at least in the society we are living in.
“Within the boundaries of that house, she was just an outsider who wasn’t raised with appropriate demeanor.”
Saliha left her parents home and the city along with all the people who love her like anything, to live with her husband. Of course, there’s nothing abnormal about it according to our societal norms. He lived there alone till then. She made it a home, a home that smelled of her. Every corner of the house told the story of her love. A home that became her everything. But sadly, that was only her house. Because there was somewhere else that he called home, the place where his parents lived. The place where she wasn’t accepted. It was out of the boundaries of that house that she was understood and loved. Within the boundaries of that house, she was just an outsider who wasn’t raised with appropriate demeanor.
“She must make others comfortable and adjust to the situation because then it becomes ‘her’ home apparently.”
the A married woman is not supposed to be herself. She can’t be possessive about things, she can’t be territorial. She can’t be herself. She should just understand whatever hell might be going on around her because she is supposed to be understanding. She is not supposed to complain about anything because it’s her home when it comes to these things. She must make others comfortable and adjust according to situations because then it becomes ‘her’ home apparently. But is it home? If not, where is her home?

‘It’s not done like this here.’
And ironically, it’s the same home where she is asked to comply with things because it’s her in-law’s home. She can’t-do whatever she likes because it’s not your ‘mother’s home’. ‘It’s not done like this here.’ is what she gets to hear every now and then. It’s not done like that so it will never be done like that? Helping a person adjust in a totally new environment is more important than whatever ‘that’ you are talking about? It’s your home; she left hers, so where does she belong to now? Where is her her home?
The debate can go on and on for there are innumerable instances happening daily across the map where a woman is constantly reminded that she is homeless now. People ask, so where are you? At your mother’s place or your in-laws? Her husband says ‘we are going home this weekend.’ which absolutely means his home of course.

‘If you don’t like it here, you can go back to your mother’s home.’
‘If you don’t like it here, you can go back to your mother’s home.’ Yes, these are the exact words a woman gets to hear if she decides to share her insecurities and troubles with her husband or in-laws. Does she deserve this? Don’t you ever get angry? Why then is she supposed to be all calm in spite of all? Why can’t she be herself and call someplace her home, her own home?
The question haunts thousands of wives and daughter-in-laws constantly about where is her home. There is an urgent need to identify the root of the question and peek into the society we have created for our women. ‘Where is her home?’ Home is where people understand her, and she can be herself. Home is where she doesn’t have to think twice before saying or doing anything. Home is where she is ‘family’. Home is where she isn’t asked to leave. Do you think you had been able to provide that home to your wives and daughter-in-law? If not, ask yourself, why no home for the one who completes your home?

Most Aesthetic Places To Visit For Your Honeymoon in 2018
A honeymoon is a perfect way to kick-start one’s married life, away from the world known to them! But in a world full of beautiful places, the decision of a perfect honeymoon location becomes a little confusing. So here are our top picks to help you choose the perfect place for your honeymoon in 2018!
Best Places To Visit For Your Honeymoon in 2018
Not sure where to go for your honeymoon in 2018? Let us help you choose a place –
1) Venice, Italy
A personal favorite of mine and a must visit place for any newlywed couple! Aptly known as the City of Bridges, the best Venice has to offer is its gondola rides. A gondola is a perfect way to go through the narrow canals and it lets you experience the true spirit of Venice. One can get lost in the narrow streets of Venice with the loved one, making way for a perfect evening. The best of Italian cuisine can be experienced here and the seafood is a must try! The St. Marks Square gives an all-around finish to the trip, where one can sit back and enjoy the melodious live music.
2. Paris, France
The City of Light is, without doubt, an incredible place to visit for honeymoon. This romantic city makes you fall in love with your spouse all over again. Confess your love in front of the famous Eiffel tower; visit the Temple of Love; take a trip back to childhood through Disneyland; shop around with your special one; sip a glass of wine by the banks of the River Seine. Paris is sure to give you the most memorable honeymoon, one to remember for a lifetime!
3) The Maldives
A tropical nation situated in the Indian Ocean, with beaches untouched by humans is a perfect getaway if one wishes to have an intimate honeymoon. Whether it’s laying on the soft sands with your spouse or taking a dip in the deep blue waters, a memorable trip is assured! The Maldives gives a honeymoon experiences different from any other as one can get an exotic couple’s massage or indulge in an exciting water sport. Standing hand-in-hand on the glowing beach of the Vaadhoo Island is a moment every couple must experience in their marriage life! The Maldives doesn’t disappoint on the food front either. The unique star-lit experience coupled with barbecued fish is nothing less than heaven!
4) Greece
Greece houses some of the best spots for a honeymoon in the world, namely Santorini and Mykonos. Santorini is an ideal destination for newlyweds, with its numerous romantic escapes. Charming architecture and alluring beaches are not the only things that make Santorini so special. Its magical sunsets, delicious wine, and picture-perfect villages will make way for a perfect trip and will leave any couple with lifelong memories. Mykonos, a place commonly visited by celebrities and commons alike, is not just about the lavish beach parties or the lively nightclubs, it’s about the gorgeous beaches, the delicious food, the warm culture and the welcoming locals. It’s the perfect combination of crowd and solitude. Greece, an underrated honeymoon destination, but probably one of the best there is.
5) Istanbul, Turkey
An unheard destination but surely one of the most unique and fun places to visit with your loved one. Istanbul as a honeymoon destination is famous for its active nightlife, numerous shopping centers, and scenic beauties. A lengthy history of empires offers a rich and aesthetic experience in architecture, landscape, music, cuisine, and art. Istanbul blends the best of eastern and western culture and surely doesn’t disappoint anyone who pays a visit. Authentic Turkish baths, golden sunsets, traditional Turkish breakfasts are only a few things that one can expect from this rich-cultured city.
A memorable honeymoon is one spent in the company of your loved one, in one of these beautiful places. A Gondola ride in Venice, a visit to the Eiffel tower, a soothing spa experience in the Maldives, a fun-filled night in Greece or a unique multi-cultural experience in Istanbul, whatever it may be, it is sure to make your honeymoon in 2018 an unforgettable one. Love Beyond Boundaries: A Beautiful Wedding Story of Sumitra and Michael
What are the words and phrases we often use to describe the love stories around us? ‘They had the most romantic love story ever!’ ‘They have gone through the test of time and distance.’, ‘They met and it clicked’, etc. Well, for today’s story, we have something that is everything of that and still nothing like that. The unique element of this love story is the fortune of culture(s). No, we aren’t talking about the mainstream Punjabi and Bengali wedding where they had to fight tooth and nail with their parents to get together. It’s about a north-eastern wedding story. Yes, both of them belong to north-eastern states. The twist? States of different countries.
Wedding Story of Sumitra From Manipur and Michael From New Hampshire
Sumitra Thoidingjam originally belongs to Manipur, a culturally rich north-eastern state of India while Michael Guarino hails from New Hampshire, United States. Incidentally, New Hampshire is also in the northeast region of the country and it’s almost the same geographical size as Manipur. Click one, ha!
Where and how?
The common thread that connected them was their love for travelling and exploring new places. Since the year they met, they had been globetrotting together and making their bond stronger than ever. In 2012, both of them moved together to Burma, Myanmar. Sumitra, for her PhD research and Michael, for a job as commercial director at a UK market research firm.
The Big Decision
Sumitra had to get back( to India) in 2015 to submit her PhD thesis and rejoin work and that’s when both of them decided to unite together in the sacred institution of marriage. Their wedding had been an extended celebration given that both of them belonged to different religions and cultures, from two different corners of the world. The wedding ceremony took place both in Manipur and New Hampshire with the respective cultures of the two places. Though you must have come across the English wedding in books and movies, the Manipuri wedding is something heard off quite rarely but at the same time something worth being a part of.
It’s too late now to invite you to the actual wedding as the couple is happily married for two years; but we have this incredible story to take you to a different, culturally prosperous world. Weddings in other parts of India are more about pomp and show but in Manipur, it’s entirely about priceless traditions followed since the time of their forefathers.

The couple exchanging rings on their engagement day!
Sumitra and Michael, with the blessings of their families, got engaged in a conventional setting known as the Heijingpot (Engagement Day). Heijingpot comes from HeijingKharai. Heijing means fruits, flowers, and snacks and kharai is the vessel where Heijing is bought and stored. It’s an occasion before the wedding where the families of both the bride and groom come together to know each other and share Heijing. The ceremony takes place at the bride’s house and on this day, traditionally, it’s for the first time that the families share a meal together.
The Wedding – Luhongba
Lu here means family and clan and hongba is change. This ceremony also takes place at the bride’s place where the groom reaches in the afternoon, along with his family, and is seated for the ceremony. Let’s take you to a photo tour to Sumitra and Michael’s wedding day!
A traditional wedding invitation to the groom’s mother, a day before the wedding.
The bride weaves the wedding garland(s) herself, in a ceremony called “Lei Lengba” (Lei – flower, Lenba –putting together) with the help of her friends in a ceremony held in the morning on the wedding day.

Man and Wife!
“Till the end of time…”
After the wedding ceremony, the bride and the groom are taken inside the house for a series of exchanges – they exchange pan. Bride’s mothers and aunts give it to the groom’s mothers and aunts and then to the bride and groom.
On asking about the picture, Sumitra says, “We also believe that if the bride’s family, friends or sisters manage to ‘hit’ the groom as he is leaving, the bride will live a happy life as she will dominate him. I know it’s absurd. The groom’s friends are supposed to ‘protect’ him from being hit all the time but one of my cousins managed to sneak one in, which is why everyone is laughing here – all the pushing and shoving.”

And here’s the groom’s gang!

And the bride arrives at the groom’s place!
The Reception/Feast – Mapam Chakaouba
Mapan Chakaouba is a reception/feast which takes place after five days according to the north-eastern culture but Sumitra and Michael had it the day after their wedding. The fest is followed by short entertainment, Kumhei, which is generally Manipuri dance and music.

And the feast…
The traditions and colours that fill in Manipuri weddings have their own symbols which endeavour at making the wedding a prosperous and happy one. Looking at Sumitra and Michael today, anybody will swear to that. We take account of their lives two years forward:
Sumitra says, “Like every other relationship, we have our ups and downs, we are both very independent and are not used to living with other people but we have learnt to compromise. We fight a lot but we make it a point to apologise, make up and start afresh. Mike also knows that “The woman is always right.”(Laughs)
On asking how they worked it through the (really) long distance, Michael continues, “We saw our ‘long distance’ relationship as an opportunity – to travel, explore new places together and get the best out of life. We made it a point to meet at least once a month at a new city. We’re together now and still make it a point to squeeze in short trips once a month or a long one in 2 -3 months. And it will not be the end of the world if we have to go ‘long distance’ again.”
That’s the spirit, that’s the love! Hope you have enjoyed this cute wedding story. Share your views in the comment section below.
